How to Keep Avocado G reen?

Did you notice that avocado flesh turns brown very quickly once it exposed to air?I have observe many times because i love to make an avocado shake.Once it turns to brown it do isn't look fresh and nutritious anymore.right?
How can we preserve our avocado fruit flesh?
1.Rub 1 tablespoon of olive oil on all of the exposed avocado flesh
2.Allow the excess oil to drip into a shallow bowl.
3.Then place the avocado half cut side down in the center of the oil puddle creating a seal.

Cranberries


The cranberries are delicious added to breakfast cereals, granola,biscuits ,scones,fruit strudels and many desserts.They are great savory dishes.Cranberries can be stored about a month in the refrigerator and up to a year when frozen.
How to freeze fresh cranberries without sticking each other?
To freeze fresh berries:
  • lay them flat on baking sheet
  • place in freezer for two to three hours
  • store in a freezer bags to ensure that berries are freeze thoroughly
To reconstitute dried cranberries soak them in a hot water for 15 to 20 minutes.

On Vacation

My cousin arrived last week in Manila.He is on vacation from working three years in Qatar as electrician.I keep sending messages in his mobile but he did not message me back. Yesterday, I try to use my opera mini in my mobile phone.I online in yahoo messenger to read previous instant messages from friends.I try to check the yahoo messenger id of my cousin since I left messages to him because if I open my yahoo in computer I cannot see his past messages anymore.I see his message that he was already arrived in Manila.He also give me his new number that I can contact him. This Sunday we will visit his house in Manila.Hope he gonna treat us in a seafood restaurant that is my request.lol

Watch your Diet

Don't you know that an acid promoting foods deprive the body of minerals and can lead to muscles cramps? well,I did not know this before so what are those acid promoting foods? Those are foods high in phosphorous such as red meats,anything that contain caffeine like soft drinks and chocolates are only few among them.The top acidity promoters are processed sugars,refined flour and dairy products.Watch your diet guys and gals if you do not want to suffer muscles cramps! The foods that alkalize our body are sweet potatoes,bananas and carrots,nuts and green leafy vegetable.

How to Make a Pie Crust

This is just a follow up recipe of "Apple Pie "

Basic Pie Crust Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter,chilled and chopped
1 cup all purpose flour
1 tablespoon sugar


Procedure:
1.Preheat oven to 350 Fahrenheit
2.Put all ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
3.Mix until the dough starts to come together ( use electric mixer with paddle attachment)
4.Lay plastic wrap on a flat surface and dust it with flour.
5.Gather the dough into a ball with your hands.
6.Transfer the dough to the center of the plastic wrap.
7.Flatten dough with the palm of your hand,shaping it into a disc large enough to fill the bottom and sides of the pie plate.
NOTE: work quickly so that the butter doesn't melt while you do this.
8.Gently place your pie plate over the flattened dough,face down with one hand under the plastic wrap turn the dough over the pie plate.
9.Peel off plastic wrap.
10.Refrigerate for 20minutes.

Smoked Paprika-Garlic Chicken

My allergy comes out if I eat chicken because of high demand in the house we still buy chicken.
Here is a very quick recipe with a cooking time of 50mins.

Ingredients:
1 1/2 Tbsp.smoked spanish paprika,sherry vinegar and honey
1 Tbsp garlic paste
1 small chicken cut into pieces
1/2 tsp each salt and pepper
8 large scallions trimmed
1 package yellow rice mix
1 cup frozen green piece


How to Cook:
1.Heat oven to 400deg. fah.Line a roasting fun with foil
2.Combine paprika,vinegar,honey and garlic paste brush over chicken pieces then sprinkle itn salt and pepper
3.Arrange chicken in prepared pan.Roast for 30mins only.Add scallions top pan.
4.Continue to roast for 15 to 20 mins.
5.While cooking prepare a yellow rice according to package direction.Stirring in frozen peas 5 mins before rice is cooked.
6.To serve ,spoon rice plates on plate.Top with chicken and scallons
easy!

Grilled Meat








My day off fall last saturday and we are complete in the house.So,I buy a fish and cut liempo in a meatshop for our lunch.My 'inihaw ' / grilled meat was everybody's favorite now.Here is what I have done:

Ingredients:
1 kg pork liempo
1 cup coconut vinegar
1 tbsp iodized salt and white sugar
3 tbsps.freshly ground black pepper
1/4 tbsp. baking soda
2tbsp minced garlic
1 tbsp patis

What to do:
Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl and marinate pork for 2 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.Drain and grill over the live charcoal.

Craving

Yesterday, before going to work I'm craving of my favorite Doughnut no matter who is the doughnut maker.It is good that there are two doughnut stand on my way to work.I bought half dozens for 11peso each not bad at all . I am thinking this day off to look for a very simple doughnut recipe, so I can bake my own doughnut at home.

Quick Afternoon Snacks

If you want to make your own sandwich spread for quick and easy afternoon snacks or sandwich spread for your kids "baon" in school, here is a very easy cooking guide:

Makes 1 cup
Takes 15 minutes

1/2 cup butter,chilled
250 grams quick-melt cheese,grated
1 small can red pimiento,drained and chopped

Steps:

1.Chop butter and place in a medium sized bowl.Using an electric mixer,blend until smooth and fluffy.
2.Add grated cheese and red pimiento.Mix well.so you will have now CHEESE PIMIENTO!
3.Transfer to a glass container,preferably with a lid and refrigerate for 10minutes before serving.
4.Slather on soft white bread or serve with mini toasts and crackers..
